BlackBerry Pearl 3G and BlackBerry Curve 3G now available from AT&T

If you’ve been holding out for a BlackBerry Pearl or Curve 3G, now is your chance to finally pick one up from AT&T. Announced previously while we were at DevCon10, AT&T has kept to the date listed in the initial press release. If you’re looking to grab either one of these devices the break down in pricing is as follows:

  • BlackBerry Pearl 3G – $149.99 after instant rebate.
  • BlackBerry Curve 3G – $99 after instant rebate.

Those prices assume a new 2 year contract and a data plan of at least $15 or more is required to be purchased as well. Remember, both of these devices are BlackBerry 6 capable despite coming pre loaded with OS 5. But what I really wanna is, any former 8100 users out there excited to finally see the 9100 arrive on a US carrier?

Sprint getting BlackBerry Curve 3G

Today, Sprint announced that it too would carry the latest update to the BlackBerry Curve family, the Curve 3G. The specs of the device are identical to the handset available on a plethora of other carriers — 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BlackBerry OS 5 , optical trackpad, BlackBerry 6 ready — but Sprint’s offering will be priced $20 higher than CDMA rival, Verizon Wireless, at $49.99 with a 2-year contract. The device will be available via Sprint’s direct sales channels on September 26th and via the remaining sales channels on October 10th.

Verizon Wireless announces availability of BlackBerry Curve 3G

Today, Verizon Wireless and RIM announced the availability of the BlackBerry Curve 3G. The device sports that oh-so-familiar BlackBerry form factor, 512 MB RAM, 3G, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth, GPS, and a micro-SD card slot with support for up to a 32 GB card. The Curve 3G will be available in all business channels on September 16 and will be available in Verizon stores in the “coming weeks.” The device is priced at $29.99 when signing a 2-year contract and is “BlackBerry 6 ready.”

Wind Mobile launching BlackBerry Pearl 3G today?

We’ve just been sent in some visual confirmation of what we already knew: Wind Mobile will be adding the BlackBerry Pearl 3G to its pre-paid handset lineup. What we didn’t know, and our source was kind enough to tip us off on, is that the handset will be officially announced today. No details on price were provided, but we’re confident the handset will retail for right around $300. There you have it.

DigiTimes: Quanta to make RIM’s BlackPad tablet, runs Android?

According to blog DigiTimes, Quanta Computer will be charged with manufacturing Research In Motion’s rumored tablet, dubbed BlackPad. The blog cites Chinese publication Apply Daily, and writes:

The tablet (BlackPad) will support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as 3G through connection to a Blackberry smartphone. The device will be priced at US$499 and Quanta will start shipping orders in September with volumes to reach two million units in 2010 and eight million units in 2011.

Where the report gets a little suspect is here: “Research In Motion’s Android tablet PC [...] will be launched in November 2010.” RIM shipping an Android product? Don’t get us wrong, we would love to see it, but that’s not in the cards for RIM. Especially not with the purchase of QNX.
