Word is popping up all over the internet and we too got our invite to a special BlackBerry event to be held on August 3rd in NYC. If all goes according to the rumors, we should be seeing a full blown announcement of the BlackBerry 9800 there although, AT&T nor RIM have specified in the invite what it may be. Time will tell of course but, the pieces are all fitting in nicely here. Who’s ready to for the BlackBerry (Torch? Bold?) 9800 on AT&T?!
Since we have AT&T, Rogers pretty much nailed down for the BlackBerry 9800, BBLeaks has been hearing that users of Vodafone UK may soon also be able to get their hands on it as well. Of course, we have to take it all with a grain of salt but a September / October timeframe has been placed thus far. Any Vodafone UK users out there hoping this is more fact rather then rumor? Even if it doesn’t turn out to be Vodafone, surely some UK carrier across the pond will pick this device up? You betcha. BBLeaks also points out that Telefonica, Orange, T-Mobile UK and O2 are currently testing as well.
If you are among the folks out there who like to modify your BlackBerry devices with custom bezels, housings, trackpads and more then Truesupplier is looking to gail your love. They have most recently pumping out parts for the BlackBerry 9800 in a fashion not really seen with any other device. In the past, in order to get a lot of parts one had to wait until actual release of the device, then more and more parts became available. This doesn’t appear to be the case with the BlackBerry 9800. Right now, if you check em out you’ll find red, white and black housings available for the BlackBerry 9800 so if you’re looking to get ahead a bit on your parts ordering you might wanna check em out.
We’ve seen this happen before folks and for the most part, the assumption that once parts start showing up on 3rd party manufacturer websites a devices launch is pretty close is a fair and accurate statement. Not in all cases mind you but, it’s a good indicator things are getting close. This time around, Al Sacco has spotted some pieces for the BlackBerry 9800 over at Truesupplier. Three items have gone up for sale. A charging dock, a pouch and most importantly, the keyboard replacement pieces for the BlackBerry 9800.
